We are in a mental jail as we often do overthinking about work after workday is over.
We shut down our office computer, but our brain-computer always works day and night.
Also, sometimes, our mental computer works fast after the workday.
Our body reaches home, but our mind does not reach home wholly. It still over thinks about work.
And it is not good for mental and physical health.
Our body and mind need a complete rest. Moreover, if you have not shut down your mental computer, then it will continue in your dreams too. So definitely, it disturbs your sleep.

So, we have been obsessed with overwork. And it is not right. However, a survival game has been running among us.
We compete. We cannot avoid it if we want to survive in this competitive and insecure world.
It is an alarming sign that many people die at a young age due to this overwork. Also, the cause is stress, stroke, and cardiovascular disease. It looks that everybody seems tired in this modern world.
This stress belongs to our work hours during the day. However, after work hours, our mind and body should be relaxed, but it cannot.
We live with habits, so we take those stressful habits to our home too. That is why we are overthinking about work at home also.
And everybody is in it. So, you are not alone.
However, you can shift that habit of overthinking about work after workday is over to another habit that will shun your bad habit of overthinking about work in the house.
So, we are going to discuss those tactics here so that your brain feels stress-free in your home. It is not easy to do so, but it is not impossible.

1.. Shift Your Attention to Something Else
Overthinking about work runs with energy. You are paying attention to thoughts related to your work.
If you shift your attention to something else like a game, yoga, or meditation or painting or anything else where you feel light, then you have a secret.
You cannot stop yours over thinking as it usually becomes a habit, but you can deliberately shift your attention from overthinking about work to something else.
For it, first, pay attention to your breathing. Slow down your breathing. Pay full attention to your breath. Here you will know how to shift your attention.
If you can shift your attention from your overthinking to your breathing, then you have a secret.
Now, you can easily shift your attention to something else like yoga, any game or painting, or whatever you want to do at that time.
2.. Live With a Plan for Tomorrow
Your life is short. However, tomorrow must come.
So, plan for tomorrow. Whenever over thinking about work after workday is stressing you, propel it to tomorrow.
You will be present tomorrow. Believe in yourself. You have one brain and that brain has made to handle the current task.
It is not to live in past or future. You can make a plan for the future, but you cannot go into the future now. You always live in the present.
However, you always think about the past or future. Here, deep problem is that the mind is nothing but a collection of past or future.
You have to come to the present if you want to go out of your over thinking about work at home.
However, you are a mind. To come out of mind means to go out of yourself. And that is not possible for you.
The only solution is that you can tell your mind means yourself that I will think and do the pending work tomorrow. Order your mind to comply with it. It will revolt, but you must be determined to do so.
3.. Switch Off Your Phone in Home
In today’s world, we cannot live without a screen. We always find the screen.
And it is not a good habit. It is an unnatural habit to live.
So, it would help if you had screen time for you. In this case, you must be disciplined.
Most people check their phone every ten minutes, even at work. And it has become our habit.
And if you check your emails every ten minutes, then you must face your work emails, and it will continue your stress related to your overthinking about work.
Make a discipline to check your emails on a specified time like in the morning or the evening. Morning is good as if you check emails in the evening at home, then you again will start overthinking about work.
Your mind and body need a natural rest. Don’t give rest to them using your phone as listening to some music or something else. Come out of the zone of the screen as maximum as possible.
4.. Be Positive
If you are venting your office at home, it means you have negative thoughts.
Like if your boss was not happy with you, you carry those thoughts and feelings with you at home and continue overthinking about it.
It is okay you had faced negativity in office but didn’t bring that negativity in your home.
Be positive. Fill your mind with positive thoughts. It is not easy to do so, but you have only two choices.
One is to live with positive thoughts, or another is to live with negative thoughts.
It is an attention game. Pay attention to positive thoughts. Forgive your boss or colleague for this moment. It is beneficial for you.
You and your boss or colleague will meet tomorrow too. You could be negative for them tomorrow. Alternatively, maybe your boss or colleague will not show any resentment tomorrow. And here you are overthinking about work and for them unnecessarily.
Stop it and come to the present moment entirely. It would help if you had control over your mind and thoughts.
5.. Meditate as Meditation Helps Control Your Thoughts and Go Deep into Overthinking about Work after Workday is Over
If you take a shower in the evening after work, then make it a meditation.
Go to the washroom and in your bathtub, feel the water when you put it on your body.
It is common that in seclusion, negative thoughts come to mind very fast. However, just change your attention from those negative thoughts to the feeling of water on your body.
Alternatively, if you eat food after reaching home, then make food eating your meditation. Pay full attention to your eating. Smell it deeply. See the food deeply and chew it properly.
We never see our food deeply. We never smell our food. And on the contrary, we see the screen while eating food. It is not a good habit.
Make yours eating a meditation. And it will relax your body and mind. It will stop your overthinking about work after workday is over. However, be alert at that time. Make it fun. Try to detach yourself from it.
It will give amazing results as now you know the technique of how to detach yourself from your overthinking.
Conclusion
Your brain is like a computer. It needs some rest.
And you as a mind is a servant to your body.
Deliberately give rest to your brain and body. You know after proper rest, they again function very diligently.
So, as a mind, you have to take care of your brain and body, including yourself as a mind.
